Pretty Twisted began one day, in the middle of the summer of 2000. I came home to greet friends, sitting on my deck, making stuff. I was involved in sales at the time and had not been doing very much creative work. I picked up some of the supplies sitting around and wired what would become known as the Signature Twist necklace. I wore it the next day and a few friends asked for their own pieces. Then a few more and a few more, then a store asked for some... So, I went to the bead store with my friend Scott to get supplies. As we drove, we started brainstorming for a company name, we threw out words, trying to come up with the perfect name for this little adventure I was about to embark on. “Jewels, beads, wire, glamour, strong, eclectic, twist!” ...Eventually, words turned into comments and comments turned into name-calling…      “I know you are, but what am I?”… “ You mean I’m PRETTY?”… “No” said Scott, “You are TWISTED!” That’s it I screamed… “PRETTY TWISTED! ” and Pretty Twisted it is!
I registered the name in September of 2000, Incorporated in April of 2001.
Pretty Twisted began as a jewelry line, beginning with a necklace style. The product line began to expand and now I find that it is a range  of all types of creative work that I enjoy getting my hands into. All products are designed and hand made in North America. I love working for myself, I love the whole design process to. I like designing, making, packaging, selling and receiving cheques too. And part of what I believe in is LOCAL, HANDCRAFTED, goods. I do not foresee ever having product made overseas.
Since my youth I have always had my fingers in so many pies. I enjoy drawing, painting, textile production, interior design and so much more. This site is meant to make available all types of my creative abilities. If there is something special you are looking for, you can start here, and if I cannot create it for you, I may know someone or have a place for you to start looking.
My design focus is modern and unique although I sometimes create traditional too. Because I do not focus on mass-produced pieces I am able to create one of a kind pieces.

Most of the wedding headpieces, dresses, painting and accessories are done by custom design.

Yes - To adjust your Signature Twist necklace or bracelet to be longer, hold both ends of the piece where the wires meet (not by the clasp). Gently pull to extend the item. We suggest making small changes and checking the fit instead of a big tug that needs to then be taken in again. To adjust your Signature necklace or bracelet smaller, gently bunch a small section of the item. We suggest making small changes and checking the fit prior to making another adjustment.

We strive to meet all of your expectations when we customize a piece for you. We will send you a photo, prior to shipping, for your approval. Once we ship a custom item, we cannot take returns as we cannot re-sell your ‘one of a kind’ item. Generally we ask for a 50% deposit upon agreement of a design and the remainder when the piece is ready for shipping. We strive to complete all jewelry orders within a 2-3 week time frame. All other products will be given their own production time frame when the order is placed.

If you receive your piece in less than perfect condition, or it is not as you expected, please contact us within 24 hours of receipt and we will make arrangements to ensure your satisfaction.
We will repair or replace defective pieces for 14 days from time of delivery. This does not include damage from excessive wear, or from being dropped.

We ship through US Postal / Canada Post Expedited Parcel Service. This service delivers in approximately 3 - 5 business days. If you require faster service, we will use an overnight service at a premium cost.
